Wordpress

Wordpress is a blogging system that has been around for a number of years, but is slowly picking up speed to become the best system to use due to the thousands of plug-in 'Widgets' which can enable the blog to become so much more...

Most people think of blogging as something that people do in their spare time to document their lives, but social networking has now become big business and Wordpress is one of the most undervalued tools for businesses.

TheDevTeam can set you up a Wordpress blog as an entire site for your business to function if you are after a small 'brochure' style site.

The site can be designed how you want it, with your company logo, colours and whatever else you may require, and can be implemented in a pretty quick timescale.

Wordpress already includes a brilliant CMS (Content Management System) which allows users to update the site themselves really easily.

Using Wordpress as an extension to your business

The other way to use Wordpress for more established companies is to use it as an extension to your online presence.

This can be that you simply use it as a blog to promote your products/services, which we can then have posted to your main website in the form of an RSS feed.

We have also set up Wordpress sites as knowledgebases.  This is basically a troubleshooting website for users to visit if they are having problems, find answers to their questions and even ask new questions which can then be added to the knowledgebase for other users.

It becomes a self-serving community of questions, answers and conversations between people and other businesses that are all using your products/services.

Technical

Wordpress can be manipulated to look like almost anything imaginable, from a simple blog, to an eCommerce style presence, to a knowledgebase, portfolio etc....

These are all implemented using Wordpress themes, which can then be styled within the Wordpress CSS to look however you wish, with your company logo, colours, images and anything else.

The theme needs to be hosted on a server with the CSS, but the changes to the Wordpress pages can be made by you from any computer with an Internet connection using the standard Wordpress CMS.
